Privacy considerations and additional details: ESR values consumer privacy and protection of confidential consumer data, and therefore takes all measures to protect and safeguard data. For an employer to utilize this service, ESR goes through a “know your client” procedures in accordance with FCRA section 607(a) in order to establish that the client is a legitimate business with a permissible purpose for the background data.  That is why a business cannot simply sign-up online and start ordering.

In addition, ESR does NOT supply credit reports or any credit bureau information through this service. As further protection,  ESR does not research or supply a social security number that is different then the social security number submitted by  the applicant pursuant to the applicant’s written consent.  If the social security number does not mach information entered into the ESRcheck DIRECT system, ESR withholds the report until further review.    ESR also operates under state of the art encryption and Internet security.

The bottom line: Employers get the information they need to exercise due diligence, and job applicants know they are working for an employer who values a safe and profitable workplace with qualified co-workers, in a process where consumer data is protected.
